The search is on for a suspect as troopers continue to attempt locating a wanted shooting suspect who killed the boy in Salisbury on Aug. 5.
According to Maryland State Police, at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Monday night, officers from the Salisbury Police Department responded to a home in the 200 block of Clayton Street, where they found the 10-year-old suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was treated by paramedics and rushed to Tidal Health Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.
At the time of the shooting, investigators say they believe he was inside the house along with his mother and two other young children.
No details about a possible suspect have been released.
"Investigators have been interviewing witnesses and residents in the area," state police said. "Crime scene evidence has been transported to the State Police Forensic Sciences Division crime laboratory for analysis."
The child was not identified by state police amid the ongoing investigation.
